The delegation led by H.E Prof Berbanu Nega met H.E Mr Anders E. Adlercreutz, Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland.
A delegation led by the Minister of Education, Professor Berhanu Nega, is on an experience-sharing visit to Finland and has held discussions with H.E Mr Anders E. Adlercreutz, Minister of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland.
Prof Berhanu emphasized, among other things, the urgent need for a strong cooperation with Finland in the area of teacher education, inclusion and early child education.
He specifically mentioned the wish for collaboration between the newly re-organized institution, Kotebe University of Education, to specialize on teacher education and Universities in Finland in teacher with a similar focus.
He also further highlighted Ethiopian’s effort in mobilizing the public for pre-school enrollment and school feeding.
Minster Aldercreutz explained the reasons for the success of equity and quality education in Finland.
Both Ministers agreed to strengthen joint and focused teacher training collaboration and Minister Prof Berhanu invited Mr Aldercreutz to visit Ethiopia.
The meeting was attended by Prof Kindeya Gebrehiwot (State Minster of MoEdu), Mr Okugn Okello (Head Bureau of Education of Gambela) and Mrs Pia Korpinen (counselor for Education at the Finland Embassy in Ethiopia).
