NIMEI Entrance Examination (NIMEEE)
The entrance exam is an important part of the student recruitment and admission process of the
New Innovative Medical Education Initiative.
The National Agency for Examinations (NAE) will administer the examination.
The following guideline gives the applicants to NIMEI information on the entrance examination.
The examination aims at assessing the overall aptitude and basic/general knowledge of candidates in the fields of
natural sciences and health sciences. Hence, candidates sitting for the exam are required to be graduates of the
natural sciences, engineering or health sciences with a Bachelor’s degree.
The examination is prepared to accommodate all the candidates from different fields of study.
The Examination will be administered at the 10 universities and the 3 hospital-based medical schools implementing NIMEI.
The exam centers are therefore at:
- Ambo University
- Axum University
- Debre Birhan University
- Debre Markos University
- Dilla University
- Dire Dawa University
- Made Malabu University
- Wollega University
- Wollo University
- Wolayta Sodo University
and
- Adama Hospital
- Yekatit 12 Hospital
- Yirgalem Hospital
Exam Sections
The examination has six sections containing multiple questions with four alternatives.
The areas covered in the exam include verbal and numerical reasoning, biology, chemistry, physics and general health sciences.

What to do for the exam
The examination date has not been fixed. It will be announced here and on
http://info.moe.gov.et.
Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will sit for the entrance exam. Candidates who have applied for the
NIMEI Entrance Examination are required to observe the following on the exam day:
1. Produce valid Exam Admission Card from the National Agency for Examinations.
2. Report to the exam center at 8:30 a.m. (Ethiopian time 2:30 in the morning)
